Ian is our family trust guru and is regarded as one of Nelson’s leading specialists in this area. Previously a partner of Knapps Lawyers for many years, Ian built up a sizeable commercial practice based in Richmond while at the same time developing a niche speciality in trust law.
Recently retired, Ian now consults to Client Legal Solutions where he provides guidance to both clients and staff in the areas of asset planning and family trusts. Ian also provides the firm with a ‘human’ database of information when it comes to complicated Wills and estates.
Ian is thrilled to once again be working in Nelson city and amongst a very young and energetic bunch of staff. He believes the success of Client Legal Solutions will come down to the firm’s very talented people who are not only technically capable, but also, more importantly, can deal with legal issues on a commonsense basis.
If Ian wasn’t a lawyer, he would either be a chef, opera singer or a novelist so it is no surprise that when not at work he can be found either cooking, listening to music or reading.
